Health Insurance

Visitors are NOT covered by the Slovene Health Insurance Plan and the medical expenses in Slovenia may be high. It is therefore highly recommended that participants arrange their own health and accident insurance. During their temporary stay in the Republic of Slovenia, insured persons from the EU member states will be able to claim medical services in public health institutions and from private doctors who have concluded a contract with the Health Insurance Institute of Slovenia (HIIS) on the basis of the E 111 form with the mark of the country by which the form was issued, and also on the basis of the European health insurance card. In cases of emergency a foreign insured person may also go directly to the emergency service in the nearest hospital. This is the current information available to us. Further information can be obtained from the health authorities with whom the visitor is insured or from their Ministry of Labour. All other foreign nationals are guaranteed emergency medical assistance; however, they must bear the costs of such services by themselves.

Liability

The Conference fees DO NOT include provisions for the insurance of participants against personal injuries, sickness, theft, or property damage. This also applies to any event held during the Conference period. Participants and accompanying persons are advised to arrange for any insurance that they consider necessary. Neither the Conference Organising Committee, nor its sponsors or committee members assume any responsibility for loss, injury, or damage to participants or their belongings, whatever the cause may be.
